It s been a few years old, but we finally get a new Worms game. A few months ago, Team17 tweeted a trailer for a new Worms game, and now they officially announced Worms Rumble. They were right on one thing, it will be Worms as if you never played before! Traditionally, Worms titles were 2D games in turn, where players were turning through a team of worms until a team is left up. The essence of this is maintained in Worms Rumble, but they have increased the intensity.
Instead of controlling worm teams and relaying, Worms Rumble will see players teams competing in real time. More turns, just chaos. The trailer reveals verses exchanging shots, launching grenades and quickly crossing the ground. Team17 offers team match modes by team as well as royal battle modes. As you will control a worm, players will be able to customize their worm to distinguish it from others. There will be 32 players on the battlefield at a time. This may not require strategic and carefully planned movements as previous Worms titles, but it will probably bring a new batch of fans for this change in rhythm.
We do not see the same kind of destructible environments we see in previous Worms games, but when 32 players start rockets, it may be for the best we can not simply explode the whole card. No specific date has been revealed for Worms Rumble, but it will arrive in 2020 for PC, PS4 and PS5.
