Nintendo announced the acquisition of the Japanese studio Dynamo Pictures. According to the Nintendo press release, the acquisition is designed to strengthen the structure of planning and production of visual content in the Nintendo group. It is expected that the cost of acquisition will be 34.5 million Japanese yen (about $ 250,000).
After the transaction was closed in October 2022, Dynamo Pictures will be renamed Nintendo Pictures. It will specialize in the development of visual content using intellectual property of Nintendo.
Dynamo Pictures is not particularly known among fans of anime. Nevertheless, this CG animation studio helped in creating various products in the anime industry. On the account of Dynamo, work on the film Rebuild of Evangelion 2.0, during which models of parts of Evangelion were created. The company helped in creating CG animations for Ghost in The Shell: Sac_2045, Kingsglave: Final Fantasy XV, Back Arrow, Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness, Yuri !!! On Ice and Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero. The studio was also engaged in capturing movement for games such as Monster Hunter Stories, Persona 5, Death Stranding and even Nier Replicant remake.
It is important to note that Dynamo Pictures used to collaborate with Nintendo. In 2014, she helped create Pikmin Short Movies-a series of short cg films based on Pikmin games.
